Mom and Dad (Mike & Billie) are safely in China but are unable to access this webpage so I will be posting messages for them as I hear from them. Hello from China.It is 11:41am back home and it is 12:42am here. To say it was an eventful daywould be putting it mildly, but it was still a good day over all. We left homeat 3:30 am Friday morning and arrived here some 32 hours later.It started with one of our families missing a passport when we arrived inChicago. It turned out that it fell out of a coat pocket when if was laid down at the gate in Lexington so the airline sent it up on the next flight. We allwaited as a big family until the passport arrived before we went throughsecurity in Chicago at the international terminal. Next we have done our ticketcheck in on the web and then even printed forms at the terminal but when we gotto security they said they were not the documents we needed. The woman at theticket counter asked if the terminal had asked for our Chinese visa and it hadnot. So we got the papers and went through security.It wasn’t long until all 8 families were gathered at the gate in anticipationof our trip to China. We had a great time getting to know each other andtalking about the trip to come. When we arrived we found out that our 12:30central time flight had been postponed until 4pm. One thing lead to another andwe left the ground at 9pm central time. It was a long uncomfortable flight asmost international flights are but we made it here safely. Everyone has theluggage and we have a great guide.We meet at 8:45am to go to Church in the morning and then to the Great Wall. Itwill be a busy day to say the least but we are looking forward to the day. Wefound out that we will get our babies on Tuesday afternoon or the middle of thenight Monday back home.We are going to bed to rest for the day but wanted everyone to know we were here safely.
